Carmelite Nun 1

On Thursday, 17 March 2016, the Prior Provincial of Indonesian Province and his council visited the Carmelite nuns in Batu. Upon their arrival, they met Sr. Immaculata O.Carm., a German nun, who was one of the three pioneers of this Carmelite monastery. Sr. Immaculata, due to her health and age, could only lie down on her bed. Despite her condition, she was still highly spirited in living her Carmelite life. After having conversation with Sr. Immaculata, the Prior Provincial and his council moved to the neutral room where the members of the community had been waiting for them. They had a deep conversation on Carmelite presence in Indonesia. The number of Indonesian Carmelite nuns is twenty two eighteen of them live in the monastery of Flos Carmeli Batu, while four of them live in the monastery of St. Joseph, Banturung Borneo
